m6i-cahv.it -- rating: 45 catch a happy vibe is an energetic song. unfortunatly, it doesn't change it's pace a lot. it has a breif introduction, and then basically stays the same, with assorted sawtooth melody lines and a few chord changes. it has a very early demo feel to it. as far as samples go, it was a bit lacking. typical samples of average to low quality. a little modification of the samples could have changed this song a lot. this song appealed to me marginally because it was upbeat, quick, and showed emerging talent. but it was not original. the leads were not of any special quality, and there was little to no resting in between them. the chord progressions were very cliche, and the leads were not well thought out. so as far as form goes, i was not impressed. your technique is at a rookie to intermediate level. i saw no panning changes, no interesting panning effects, and only limited use of harmony. i am guessing you have no formal musical training (which is not really a huge problem, i have very little myself). perhaps a little brush-up on scales and modes would freshen up your sound. try not to follow other musicians and create music you want to hear. focus on mood and change in the song, and be less repetitive. this song is kind of catchy, but doesn't really hold attention or leave a mark. to be perfectly honest, the vibe i caught was that of repetition, not happiness. i apologize for being a little harsh. with practice, you will no doubt become a highly successful tracker.

Rather 80's sounding...if this was the author's intention then I guess it worked. Really needs work on the drums to prevent the mechanical sound typical of early era Amiga mods. The bass line has no originality whatsoever and the synth is too loud and sounds out of tune at times. The second last pattern is a welcome relief however and it is a shame that the transition to half time isn't exploited more.

The sound of this tune is impersonnal. The beat is a little shaky, some fill-in are too loud. The stereo treatment is very poor. Take care about tuning : the string sample is one quarter-tone lower than others. The manga style is well-covered, but it won't truly convince non-fans.

This song seemed to alternate between being a good, solid tune that was enjoyable to listen to, and something where something was just not right. Overall, when it was good, it was an average to above average song, and when it was bad, it was just a few steps(or fine tunings) away from that average or above average. To begin, the percussion section that started in channels 1 and 4 started out not fitting, as the first part of the song has some slow synths. It's just a wee bit overpowering for that section. On the other hand, once the song gets going, and has more channels going at once, the percussion section fits in pretty nicely. Another part that I didn't enjoy, was from order 14 to at least 18, because 14 was where sample 9 comes in, and manages to be slightly out of tune with itself, and the rest of the song. Then there's a chord change, and the dissonance becomes more apparent. After 18, the chords with sample 9 work much better, so it's more a chord choice than a sample tuning. The ending was pleasurable, and was a nice cap to a smooth progression in the song. The song started out relatively slow and quiet, progressed to a few faster parts that made the song title make sense, and then finished off with a slow ending that catches the listener's attention. I certainly had no problem keeping my attention on the song. This song would have benefitted from more stereo work(especially with sample 11), and more volume changes would have been an added bonus.

Some good and some bad samples. Substantial bass and beat power, but the mixing could be better. This song has mood and pace to make it pleasant listening for a while, but the sound is almost like compressed, and it gets on the listeners nerves after a while. Try to insert some dynamics into your music to make it more than just background noise. Maybe this song gives somebody good vibes, but there's so much more to music than that.

The beginning, having no intro, really suits this song. Right away the melody starts, a combination of chords, which sounds very cool. The bass and drums are repetetive, but the melody almost never repeats and the song never gets boring. The samples are purposefully low quality which give this song sort of a nintendo sound. Very good.
