The module is well tracked. But all patterns sound too much alike. I get the same impressions as listening to a short looped module. It doesn't move enough. And the melody aren't very catchy. Channels 1,2 and 8 of the 3rd pattern (and all other places it's repeated) are good. Better usage of this would have made the module more interesting. And the end... it just doesn't fit well there.

First few notes are held too long, instead of being dramatic they're just boring. Samples are pretty low quality, seems to be a really bad loop in sample 1. The ending notes are also held on for too long (maybe fade them out a bit or something). There are some interesting and varied ideas throughout the piece, but there isn't much for overall musical structure.

*File Specs* [Additional vote] ... [Filename]m6i-fodm.it [Title] A Flash of Dm [General comment]This song kind of reminds me to the good old C64 times when the hardly knew how to code an Arpeggio routine. This one is a bit patched with panning and some "digi's" as samples were called here. I rather would have liked a near hundred percent emulation approach of the SID MOS chippy, that would at least made me a bit happy. The samples are really lousy if i have to be honest, the impression of the whole concept is too raw sounding, too chippy, i can't speak about cheezy because for that most samples are too bad for that. The song concept has a good idea however which brings in a bright point, your arrangements are loose and limited, out of harmony, though i stay fair that you tried to do your best setting your volume balancing right, i guess you were forced to do that in order to save your own stereo equipment didn't ya? :)

"I wonder what happens if I cross a chip track with an orchestral/movie track" Well, when using crap samples and annoyingly dull ideas, the result is without doubt: garbage. Please, don't do this again. Don't waste our time. Get a life or something. Or find some decent music to listen to.

Volume levels are a little quiet in the beginning. Sounds like what could be the beginning of an epic song. Certainly different from other songs so far, and individuality is most definitely good. Listening to your leads so far, it sounds a little bit like you're cutting the leads off a little too quick and not giving them any sustaining qualities (like reverb or echo). The same appears to be happening with some of the string chords. You are using fadeout bars in the track, so you can set them to fade notes out even slower than right now, as at the moment they are being cut out a little quick. I do have respect for tackling the song in only 8 channels. Limited channel tracking is a bit of a lost art these days. I like the song ideas that are happening in here. The ending is, like most of the notes being cut off throughout the song, abrupt. Again, this is a very original sounding song that vaguely reminds me of the C64 days and is done in a compressed environment. The samples are a little muddy and use of the samples is a little fuzzy, but on average a decent song.
