I always enjoy seeing people trying to track something other than the usual "hoopla". This was in fact a nice tune with quite an Irish feel to it. Unfortunately, the thing that seriously keeps this song from being "great" rather than just "good" is the quality of it's samples. Given the size of this song, the Artist had more than enough room to equip themself with better samples which would have been cleaner and given it a more authentic feel. Great samples alone tremendously helps the artist create a deeper impact on their listeners.

The folk style is well controlled, using good technique. Samples are correct, stereo is effective, and echo effects are great. Be carefull about bass saturations in choruses. The guitar part may need to be more neat : try to grab several samples of the same instrument, but at different octaves, to obtain a more realistic sound. The ending is well done. Good folk tune.

Ha! I enjoyed this song, and i enjoyed the fact that you had the courage to enter a song such as this. It is always nice to see someone track something the WANT to track, and not write something for everyone else. Your skill is noticable, and your choice of samples is very good, as they fit very well together. No glaring flaws on listening, and i found it a really enjoyable song with a phat name :) Goood Luck.

Those guitar chords sound overly simplistic at the beginning, but when the flute comes in with the quiet pad in the background the song starts to get a little more interesting. The guitar solo is also nice, but then we revert to those cheesy chords again... The percussion is noteworthy because it does not stick out too much, but complements the song nicely. The flute is a nice sample and the rest mix fairly well, except maybe for the guitar. I found the guitar a bit irritating because it was very unrealistically played (if it was even supposed to be a guitar, I don't know :) but tracking a realistic guitar part is pretty tricky I suppose. A pleasant song, nothing terribly wrong with it.

Yet a bit excessive with the channel usage, so I'd have to say, with the sounds I was hearing. Definitely one of horrendous technique, too many things to achieve that all to simple effect. Repetition was obvious and evident. Overall effect was OK, though could have used slightly more varied.

Well, I'm pretty sure my parents would like this one. Probably not the author's greatest achievement musically, but an upbeat, well tracked song covering a fairly wide dynamic range in just three minutes. Not the most original piece of work, but then again, it isn't quite every year you hear something new in the tracking world. No glaring flaws that I feel necessary to comment on. Judging by what I've heard so far this year, this might just have what it takes for the second round.

Whoa! A really nice fantasy style track, lovely feeling in this one. Where are the birds whistling and the sound of wind rustling leaves on trees? I could almost hear them :) Kudos and two thumbs up to the tracker for this one, I really enjoyed it. Nice samples too and good work. A bit heavy on NNA's though, it maxed at 63 channels ;)
