Very nice ambient music. The author shows skills with tracker and made an effective use of the 26 channels. Particularly intense the patterns starting from 116, altough I'd used again an half volume level for echoed voices. This song reminds me a typical Jarre style, and the well balanced volumes and pannings do not tire the listener. The end of the song is a little unusual with those hyper-high frequency slides, but after two or three times you become used to it.

Ambient Chip Song. What can I say? Chip songs are quite old but still, sounds interesting. It's a cool song, got some weird notes here and there. We're far from Purple Motion's classics but we're slowly getting there! :)

[Filename]m6i-mtea.it [Title]Mech Tear [General comment]My my, from which nintendo game-console did you ripped those sfx you filthed your intro with?I understand the purpose of these sfx but the form was not complete intresting... 470Kbytes is a very large cheese-tune in my opinion, at least for how it started with the leads... your leads are too high and too wrong you have a bit those ugly "JcH mirrorbreaking"-lead scenarios (Jens Christian Huus who was also capable of using terrifying unbearable high leads) Your leads also do not seem to be to well fitting in your song harmony and songconcept. There are a lot of enjoyable aspects within this song, i like the breaks and the melancholical atmosphere but please make it sing a different lead.

You seem to have found a really cool trick at the start and the end to get those sounds from a single chip sample the way you did. It's a shame there are flaws, really - this song could have been an easy qualifier but for them. First of all, the bassline in channels 2 and 3 tend to clash with the main bassline and the melody, which really hurts the song. Secondly, sample 11, which you seem to use as a bassdrum, has a discernible tone which, again, clashes with other parts of the song. It's a shame, since the song would be really good without those glaring faults. It's a decent ambient piece, and could have qualified without any difficulty without them. As it stands, they might have cost you a place in round 2.

Nice warm effects, almost like a sunrise. The stereo panning was very well done and the overall balance of tones was pleasant. Though it was difficult to get used to the melody because it was played so high---2 octaves too high IMO. It also seemed like the first 1:15 the song is setup. A quite long intro. Until you get about 2 minutes into then does it really start to move. I can't say that the song is particularly catchy because it is more of just a soundtrack, like something you'd find for Patlabor. For technical style, it was also interesting that the first 100 patterns are basically wasted and the song really only uses couple dozen patterns above 100. Good job.
