Great, moody intro with well-faded pads. Bassdrum could have been faded in too, but overall the drums are excellent and well mixed. Good, driving bass. Panning could be more spread out. The thunderstorm sample halfway through the tune is a bit harsh, could be better faded in, and is sustained for too long. Second part of the tune is good, with sound effects to keep the tune interesting. I'm impressed - you have good knowledge of technique and the style - just work on your mixing and fading in parts. A good, chordy ambient track with a pulse. You've underestimated your own ability by entering into the rookie section; I look forward to hearing your future releases.

The ambience set at the beginning (and kept all the way to the end) was good, but then, nothing happens. The beat and bass are bad. The acute part (like some kind of bells) from orders 9 to 12 was good, but too short. The water had nothing to do in there. In general, it's extremely repeating. There's no end. The ambience is really good. If there'd be some leads, more melodies and no repeatition, it'd probably be a great module.

This was a tough song to review! There are a lot of -excellent- qualities to this, but there were just enough major problems to make the good look bad. All in all, everything pretty much balances out. I'll start with the strengths: First, you have a tallent many trackers lack... Namely, patience. You take for-bloody-ever to build your song. You have fades that last 6 or 8 patterns... These are things that the average tracker -cannot- do.... And you make excellent use of this tallent, creating a very nice, ambient tune. This is also a problem, for two reasons: first, the song.. well... takes forever to build. :) Not all listeners have the same patience you do. Second, it makes for a simple tune, which can't really score well in a contest where tracking prowess is being measured. This style just doesn't suit itself to winning contests. Another one of you strengths is rhythm... You make a very simple, minimal use of rhythm, with the utmost efficiency. It's nice to see that. One of your major problems is samples: once you've got some experience under your belt, you'll start using more of your own samples, and that will really help your song. They'll sound more coordinated, for one. You'll also stop using really old, fairly lame samples, like the rain. It's just a bad sample. :) You make the right choices of samples, though. Rain would be appropriate, there. It just needs to be a better sample. The strings are all quite nice, too. But most of all, the "ambient" sounds a very cool. I like what they add to the song. In fact, I've used similar samples. Sample 29 sounds almost exactly like one of the sample I've used on a couple of occasions. :) Anyway. Nice job, keep at it. You'll make an excellent tracker.

Intriguing tune. Sorta mix of ambient and trance, pretty cool use of sound effects and pans. The samples are quite good and the tracking seems quite good too, only thing which slightly bothered me was that when the rain+thunder kicked in, it was a little bit too loud compared to the general volume in the song itself, and the rain should have faded out more smoothly in the end instead of vanishing quite abruptly like it does. Still, a nice effort which I liked.

Sample set is good, but there could be more different kind of samples. It lasts far too long before anything really happens. The mixing is almost too good for a rookie. Very enjoyable, but works well only as background music. So, you can track, but how about some musical content as well?
