Judge: Herranen ,Vesa The beginning was pretty awful; the "melodie" you played with your bassdrum was horrible, and the vocals really hurted my ears. The beat wasn't good at all, in the whole song. It didn't got any sense really. When I had listened to the song for a while, I really got annoyed by the cheering crowd, which repeated the same annoying cheering through the whole song. For a while, the idea of a cheering crowd was ok, but after that while, the idea was spoiled with that overuse of it. The ending wasn't very good either, it really could've needed improvement. Afterall, your melodies weren't very good, nor is your technique. They really need improving. |
Judge: Lamy ,William Not very controled. The way you use instruments/samples is not realistic enough to cover a concert's atmosphere. Guitars sound is very difficult to handle, especially using one single guitar sample : the intensive use of detuning gets it caricatural. You should play your drums samples one octave lower, and apply a huge volume amplification on it. Keep in mind that drums are the loudest instrument on a scene. Playing a low snare sample as a kick is not a great idea too. Work on your rythm constructions, ask a drummer for little help. Technically, you have used stereo pannings, tempo/speed changes, volume slides... your handling of the tracker is good. Now work hard on rythm and harmony. |
Judge: Jonsson ,Agust And when you thought that things couldn't get any worse, they do it, just to proove you wrong. *shiver* Samples ain't bad, but the tune itself is horrible. |
Judge: Brown ,Yannis The thing which struck me out with this tune was the electric guitar sample which sounds a little constipated. The drums sound a little tight for the tune. Perhaps some rock drums would have sounded better. Backing wise there's not much here, only the bass which is an old ST sounding sample. The song cried to sound like a rock concert, but because of the poor combination of samples, only the crowd sample helped pull this off. Some clashes with the melody and the backing melody during the tune (especially at the end of the song).Panning was rather mono sounding. Also the tune seems to stop and start a lot so it's not as continuous as it could be. There's not a lot of direction which this tune could go in. |
Judge: Telgarsky ,Matus All the samples seemed to be constrained to narrow pitch ranges. experiment more! crap this song bored the crap out of me. try to develop your technique some more. |
