An effective beginning but the conga is totally out of place. Samples 1 - 8 are of the same guitar but at a different pitch, this is a little unnecessary. A poor sample set but it is of fair quality. Pattern 2 the beat introduction would be (and is) more effective if it starts a snare and bass build up from 96. Guitar melody is fair but needs a more subtle balance to it, there are also a few pitch clashes that need addressing. The beat is a little too standard, and although it fits well a few more ideas would allow it to add more feel to the track. This song has good potential but needs a better understanding of production, technique, and clearer musical ideas.

Yay, a rock ballad!@# :D Hmm, the Big Jim guitars. Hard enough to tune perfectly for a veteran, let alone a rookie. I can trace most of these samples back to their roots (hell, I've used most of them enough myself to know ;) ), but looking beyond that, I see good chord structure, a solid melody, an attractive bassline and good percussion. The lead guitar gets VERY messy in patterns 6 and 10. Generally a solid piece. The lead guitar melody is mostly tracked well. Occasional flaws like the aforementioned messiness harm the tune. Also, it feels too short. Just as I'm really getting into it, it ends. Again, this harms the tune. Overall, however, above average. I'd have expected to find something like this in the Intermediate section. Good work.

Wow. I was going to start typing comments as I listened, but my mind just stopped. Very good song. Flows extremely well, easy on the ears yet keeps your attention, definately NOT a boring piece. That guitar progression used throughout would get repetitive, but its soft enough (both volume and instrumentally) to get away with it. One of the few songs I actually wish were longer. Great!

-beginning set me into the eighties and I'm watching a couple making out on a beach or something, adult contemporary -perc doesn't seem to fit in beginning -nice change of pace at order 11 -order 6 is a little messy... -good chord structure -repetative... -good job with sample selection and quality overall, impressive effort... good chord use and nice job of layering, need to work on variation and fine tuning the volume levels of layers so that it doesn't become muddy sounding

Good, but short. And some of the patterns sounded like almost dead repeats, too. For all that, "Emotional Mind" was very strong. I think I'd heard one of your leads before, but I wasn't sure. The instruments were a pretty good set. Drums: it sounded as though you copied tracks 17 and 18 indiscriminantly, regardless of where the beat actually was in the pattern. Fairly original genre, you don't hear much like this in digital music. Overall stuff: good leads, good harmony and texture. I esp. liked the guitar you began and ended with ( faded out awfully fast, tho :) ) Strong composition overall ( sounded like pretty much aABAB-Bridge-a to me ) Liked it. ( BTW 'short' doesn't do anything to your score... :) )
