Ok, now here we go! This might deffinitly be a finalist. First off... TO LOUD!!! It nearly blasted my ears out. I know techno is supposed to be loud, but leave it up to the listener if they want their music that loud. My major complaint (technically speaking), playing the same instrument in two (or more) different channels just to make it louder, is avoided by ALL of the more well known trackers. It just takes up more channels, and makes their computer slower. Mine didn't have too much a problem (486 120mhz), but you would have scored you more points in the final round for technuique if you made the song, but by only using 12 channels (yes, it is 12, I tryed it). If you decide to compose for video games, you CAN'T double/triple/quaduple on channels just to make it louder. Tracked music is very prosseser intensive. Other than that, this song rocks! Try to compose some more creative techno (I hear a lot of techno that sounds like this). However, this song is very enjoyable, so I gave it a good rating. One more note... I notice that sample 01 and 13 are the same, but an octive higher. I don't see much of a reason for this, untill I checked the instruments, 01 and 13 had different volume and panning envelopes. But still, you didn't need the extra sample... you could have used the same sample for both instuments 01 and 13. I did this with my entry, (of course I can't tell you which one), I used an AirPad sample, but had 3 instruments for it. A percussive one, a slow one, then an even slower one.

Could have used better "ghosting" on the loud snare. Stuttery as a result. Good samples. No melody to catch on to. Very traditional. Overuse on the channels for your increased volume effect. OVERALL APPEAL. Not too bad. Traditional techno. A bit uninteresting. Nice quality sound mostly supported by the use of the drum loop (inst 5). Nothing in the song to really latch on to ie. nothing really stands out. Skips through the different themes way too quick for this type of music. Best to find something really good and develop it a bit more. Considering a lot of songs of the same genre can extend out to 7 minutes and still not get boring (ie they have a good idea and develop it well) I am aliitle concerned that you ran out of song at 3 minutes. TECHNICAL. Very little use of effects makes the song less interesting. Experiment. Volume levels on the snare starting at patters 15 and 29 need to be more varied. Try using lower volumes at the more syncopated times for a better "ghosting" effect. Overuse of tracks unnecessary to get more volume. I just turn my stereo up! Good quality samples. 16 bit used when needed (crash cymbal) Tuning seems fine. CONCLUSION. Very standard techno. Nothing really there to make the song memorable. Plays like a mediocre SASH song. Not much thought put in. Very unoriginal. Good quality sound. Very clean! Chugs along nicely. I wouldn't complain if the DJ at my favourite dance club played this. But then it's only 3 minutes long...

i'm a big techno fan so i enjoy the phatty synths and upbeat tempo, but parts of this song do show why so many people shun the genre: uninteresting, blindly repeating bass with interesting sounding leads carelessly thrown on top. at times though your song really mixes together well and there aren't many major technical flaws. but there's too many "generic bad techno" elements and nothing that really stands out and forces the listener to take notice. hope you don't give up the genre tho.

well.. I really like this rave-esque kind of music. pretty neat. sometimes the music gets annoying, but it's cool. sorry if this comment sucks, I am doing a crapload of extra votes.

Good, solid techno. It has good technical and style skills, smooth transitions, and clean instruments. The only that's keeping it from becoming a great song is more creativity---key changes, eccentric instruments, perhaps even vocal samples. This would probably do very well as a game soundtrack. Nice job.
