whomever you are, you -rule- and i consider you one of my new favorite tracking demons on the scene... your organ part at the beginning reminds me of a song my band plays

I like your song because i know it's difficult to make rock/hard rock music that sounds realistic. There are so few good rock modules ("Pigie's hut"/Romeo knight & "What guitar ?"/Mindfuck are definitely my favourite). According the fact that you're a rookie musician, Heavy Hummer (where does this name come from ?) is a sucess. I particularily like the intro part with the organ. It's a good thing you end your song with the same idea you began with (nearly quite perfect transition at pattern 1F). Your sample are well choosen (not the easiness to sample long riffs) although the one used for the first channel (0C) seems to come from some old Future Crew musics. Maybe there is one sample you should have changed : 10. When it's used from pattern 10 on the 10's channel (!) it sounds too synthetic for a rock song doesn't it ? Maybe you shoud have used more effects (not only vibrato, and volume) but i'm not sure because rock music don't really fit fantasy... Anyway your song is really lively.

There are, without doubt, some nice musical ideas in this song, but those really crappy samples kill everything. It just sounds too cheap to really be taken seriously. Also, in the metal part, the used chord progressions are really overused and heard some thousand times. So it COULD have been a good or at least interesting tune, but in this shape, it's simply another potential victim of the all-judging DEL command.

Well, let's start with something good. The very end and beginning of the song were well done, with fairly decent organ harmony and choir. Unfortunately, the middle 95% isn't. I will say one thing - the composer is definitely gifted at creating pure energy. It's almost impossible to listen to this song relaxed. It keeps you on edge and doesn't let go. So why didn't I like it? For one, the samples need work. They had been overamplified to the point where many frequencies were clipping painfully. It didn't help that they were all played at full volume in the song, totally maxing out the volume bars and clipping at the soundcard-level, too. And to top it all off, I'd seen many of the samples hundreds of times before. For another, while I don't fault the musical abilities of the composer for this, the tracking form was quite frankly less than exceptional, with a lot of repetition, random notes, and lack of variation in note length. But there is hope. I'd think that if this composer experimented a bit more with some higher-quality samples and practiced tracking some more, they could turn out something truly good. The talent's there, but the process of tracking itself needs work.

Heh. First it got me thinking I had heard the first bits from some game somewhere (ghouls'n'ghosts?) then it suddenly changed into this rock monster. I must admit that in a way I enjoyed the tune, it's got balls :) Nicely tracked despite lack of using effect commands, it could have been a part of a game soundtrack, it has that cool feeling you hear in some games (like GnG & Black Tiger to name few), where the music underlines the level you're playing. It suggests action, mystery, and the organs in the begining suggests a place related to religion (church/monastery/hell :) hmmm could fit nicely as the theme music for a bad end-of-level monster :) Damn, you got me going there :) On to the track again. The samples ain't of great quality, though very nicely & efficiently used, my only complaint is that they lack meat, ie bass to really pound your blood and get it moving. Still, good effort , keep on practising, and you could be kicking serious ----- later on :)

This song doesn't work very well. Starting out with the pseudo-gothic organ and choir and jumping to metal rock just isn't a good idea. The guitars samples are, frankly, horrible. This thing doesn't let up, eitherjust a endless barrage of staccato drumming.
