If the author of this track really is a rookie I'll eat my shorts (mmmm cotton). This could easily go in the Immediate catagory, I see gr8 potential if the author truely is just starting out. The two melody's later in the piece seem like two people (perhaps saying goodbye even ;) This point of two separate instruments / people mimiking each other should be expanded on, it creates a good mood in the piece. In order 12, channel 22 the new erm beat starts off a little suddently, perhaps a quick fade in of this sample would help. Good panning and a well planned ending make this a very well done piece.

I like where this seems to be going in the intro. A small comment I have is that you may want to have the guitar chords "strum" a little. Put a slight note delay on the second and third notes on the chord in order to have a more realistic feeling, because it's impossible to hit three notes on a guitar at exactly the same time. This song obviously has some emotion put into it, and that's what makes this song stand out in my mind. The effects used on the flute melody are few, but well done in where they are used. I like the transition into the second part (accented with the tambourine) Something you might want to think about is vary the volume on that tambourine just a little bit (like, by one or two) every time you call it, because a tambourine is played in that fashion as a hit on the hand, followed by three shakes, the second of the three (on the and of the note) softer than the others. Experiment around. Other than these really anal details, I really like this song, and I think you did an excellent job. Congrats!

A nice tune - well done. It is kind of like my own entry in MC4! The simple musical ideas are well expressed with good technique. The transitions at orders 0C and 12 are effectively done - with good use of the drum loops at order 12. The song has a very nice sound overall - the tunes, orchestration, echo work, and panning are all good. The samples a good, although sample 3 is used too high so that the vibrato in the sample is too rapid. I enjoyed this song. The style is not particularly original and therefore needs some more sophisticated ideas which will arise with more experience.

Nice rhythm and theme, though I swear I've heard this song before somewhere. Flows nicely and samples were appropriately chosen. Change of beat is a welcome addition in the piece. Overall, a generally nice piece, even if it seems unoriginal.

Flute echo is interesting. The flute pitch slides need a little more work to be realistic. I don't know if it's a good idea to echo bass drums, but I suppose it worked out fine with this sample. The new drums that come in at about 3:00 need some work : the beats in between the main beats are a little too soft. It ends too abrutly. A little flat, build up to some point, then blow it off for the ending, i guess. But, great rookie piece. Good luck! :)

I love the atmosphere you created in this track. But, the guitar sounds clearly artificial. Actually, all the samples sound a bit artificial. However, the tunes themselves, reveal your musical genius. I like the development each wind instrument has throughout the song. The changes kept me interested throughout. I especially like how you layered the clarinet and the flutes together (nice wind samples). The change in "drumloop" was nice, perhaps a bit out of place though. Overall, good job - I enjoyed the song. All you have to worry about is improving your guitar skills. Perhaps use more variations and syncopations.

Nice one. The author knew his limits and didn't attempt to change the world.. and it paid off, this is definitely one of the better rookie songs this year. Some of the good things especially worth mentioning are a melody that makes sense, the nice tempo changes and an overall functionality that is unfortunately quite uncommon in this category. One of the major downsides is that few of the featured instruments even come close to sounding like their real life counterparts, due to lack of picking dynamics (I'm really starting to get sick of that word) on the guitar, bad looping and so on. But at any rate, this song is up there with many of the intermediate entries I've heard so far.
