Judge: Hesse ,Liam Pretty, but very untidy. I recognise many of those samples. The style is familiar too. Call it intuition, but you wouldn't be a fan of Siren's music, would you? ;) This really does sound very much like Siren's early work, only quite a bit messier. (Sorry to break the news to you like that, but I figure you'd rather I be honest. ;) ) The sudden drop in tempo at order 16 is bizarre. It doesn't fit. A gradual slowdown to this point would have been more suitable, I feel. Given the return to the original tempo at order 20, however, the slowdown seems hopelessly out of place. It just doesn't belong in there at all. A good example of how not to do the "mellow bit in the middle". This song has obvious flaws, but at least the samples are tuned. (I wonder if that isn't just cos they were more or less all ripped? :^) ) The song does show some merit, however. I liked the kooky chord structure. Simple chords, put together in an intriguing, yet pleasant fashion. Sadly, not really the stuff a top five rookie tune is made of. Better luck next year. |
Judge: Roirand ,Johan nice melodies, some nice variations too, but the style lacks of originality! but that tune is nice to listening to anyway. |
Judge: Carman ,Richard For a rookie song, this is very good. I would expect this to be in the intermediate category. Nice beat, the lead kicks, use of stero settings. |
Judge: Lamy ,William This is a good work although the style is very unpersonnal. Stereo is good. The beat could be more groovy. Try to write some real choruses instead playing piano chords all the time, or using those boring arpeggios. Try to enter intermediate section next year. |
Judge: Norilo ,Vesa Some samples could be much better, and the drum loops sounded a bit tinny. Fine sound for a rookie, and the effect when you bring in the bass is cool. Chord progressions are not exactly fresh, but are technically good for a rookie (some inversions and bass displacements). Leads are a bit meaningless, but enjoyable anyway. |
