A part of this song reminded me of an old 80's tune. The beat was inventive, but what mad this song hard to like was the artist's choice of leads. Try using higher quality leads, and try to develop a them that if you play once the listener can not only recognize it later in the song, but can actually imagine hearing it come from the song itself even when the lead isn't currently playing.

well, this song isn't really original, but it has a "different" sound to it.. uhm, different in a strange way. it's a song with definent beginning middle and end, and decent transitions. your tracking tecnique is fine, but the application is a little stale. your leads were nice, but not really thought out, it seemed to me. it felt very .. robotic. it had a distinct game music feel to it. it didn't have the flow i was looking for. and i'm sorry, but your song's piano/string pre-intro isn't very catchy or fitting. the start of the song is nice, but the rest kind of stays the same, with only occasional breaks for leads, etc. it all sounds very forced. the hihat samples were too loud. instead of just fading out, try a drum fill, or something to get our attention before the song ends. y'know?

I just now finished listening to your song. Musically, it was very well done! This song has great potential. The only real problems that are in this song have to do with the technical side of things. Things like the tempo shift you attempt to do in your intro. You use speed commands to do this.. I know FT2 users can't easily do effect-column scaling but you wouldn't have to do a tempo change each row. At any rate this would be much smoother than switching between speeds the way you did. Some other problems include the echoes on your piano, which just plain sound odd.. The loudness of your hihats, and other mixing problems as well. At some points the pianos sound a bit too loud (when the piano comes in again after the drums kick in). You use some odd sounding chip instruments for leads a bit later on. Since you still had quite a bit of song size left (under the 1MB limit), you could've added some sort of longer synth sample(s) to replace than that/those chip sample(s). What is GREAT about this song is how much you chose to vary this song. This is one thing I really look for in these MC songs because many of the previous songs (especially in this category) were lots of repetition (which as we all know, gets quite boring). You don't seem to have a problem with this, which is good since you must have a lot of ideas to get down. You just need to work on your tracking skills, and perhaps sampling skills :).. These samples don't seem blatanly ripped, but they don't posess any certain feel as a whole that would give a song a very unique type of sound or feel. My suggestion would be to sample from various sources, put them all into on song (so you have all your timbres and variances right there at your fingertips) and track away.. Pick the ones that sound best to what you have in your mind and go for perfection when it comes to the sound (in terms of using FT2's effects, and so on). Try experimenting with some other styles too. This song's style has been done quite a bit in the past.. But as for the melodies and such, it still is quite original. Nice job!

This sounds a lot like the old four channel mods of yesteryear....the beat was pretty basic. Actually, most of the song was pretty basic.... The speed up thingie at the very beginning makes the song sound as if it was being pushed. I don't understand the point of it being there; don't feel afraid to cut it, and just start at the next part....the piano sounds hollow in the beginning. Try to get a better sounding piano.

Awesome song. The intro I feel ends a bit too roughly and speeds up a bit too fast. The samples here are really good, and the author does not overuse panning, giving the song a very full sound. The drums beat is cool. I would have chosen a different instrument other than the brass one for the melody. The accoustic guitar playing the coords sounds very cool, and its transition to strings is awesome. The piano goes very well with the song. Again, I would have used a different instrument for the melody in channel 14 starting with pattern 48, also, I think it goes a bit too slow. The biggest problem is at the end: the song fades out way too fast.
