This song competed in the rookie division of Music Contest 6, where it ranked in block 4.

This song dives right in and it pretty much has the same feel until order 19. For form, this isn't original but it holds its own, there really isn't anything wrong with this in the form category. Technical use of the samples is good, but the samples aren't terribly original. For originality, again it's form is not new and the samples sound fairly generic. I like this song and I think you at least have a shot at the final round with this one.

First impression was good, but the song dragged on too long with the same rhythm; song length could have been chopped a lot. That consistant beat, got boring after a while, and repetition was lengthy near the end. Nice try, but needs refinement.

A nice crisp clean beginning but once again a promising beginning falls prey to a terrible piano and/or synth lead sample (in this case both)-- also the extra hand percussion lines aren't very tight with the rest of the rhythm so it sounds a bit awkward in spots (notably in a section towards the beginning).. This has a nicer sound than most of the rookie field and the person obviously does have some ability.. Nice mixing and placement of the instruments in the 'sonic field'-- just fades out though, a cop-out i'm tired of.. a song with essentially one part that just fades out.. that's pretty sad i think.. I wish people would work a bit more and not give up so easily.. this one could've done with a nice appropriate b-part..

I think you have too many instruments playing in the beginning, without contrast. It's hard to tell the difference of them. Vary them more in style, volume, and how they're played. It get's better when the piano comes in. Great flute effects, left and right, adds stress to each note and grabs attention. Synth lead is ok, plays too short. A fade out ending is ok, but this is the kind of piece that I think might be better if you go out with a bang. Good piece overall. good luck :)

A very well tracked example of a typical pc demo tune from 3-4 years ago. Not many mistakes, the few that bothered me are the snare fill at the end of patterns 6, 9 and 16, which I found too loud and conspicious, especially when you hear it twice within just a few orders, and the choir pad in channels 7 and 8, the way it cuts off, why not use instrument mode and nna's and achieve a much smoother result? Some of the samples are pretty old and used, and none of them superb in quality, but I suppose that's just appropriate for this type of a tune. The author has his tracking skills down, pretty much, and I think we'll be seeing this one in the second round. Oops, hope I didn't jinx it now.
