strange break at position 14; should be changed to give a better transition. before that break, I really like that tune, and decrease my notation after hearing that break. The start is really original, and even sounds great!

Starts out with a very simple beat, but catchy all the same. The intro shouldn't have lasted 4 patterns though, it seems a bit long. Most of the samples are pretty old and generic, but fairly well-used. I personally don't like thunder & rain samples just because they're so overused (I can't even remember how many I counted in mc6 alone), but they're fairly decent examples of such. I wish you would develop on the simple rhythm and 2-note bass thing, it has a nice kind of feel, but gets old if you don't change it or add to it any, and when you move into the faster half of the song, it really doesn't seem to fit the first half.

Eh, you could of done better. The intro was nice. It just didn't go anywhere.

Hmmm quite good track, good use of sound effects and pan/positioning, obviously you have put some effort into this track. It only left me wondering if you could have added a little bit more in way of sound effects so the listener could get a better idea of what was going on/what is supposed to happen/what it is really all about :) Still, it's a good track for use as backdrop to something else (movie/game etc). Quite good samples you're using, I sorta wondered if you got one or two of the rain/thunder samples from a track of mine or the same source I did (a few years back ;) You're rolling on the the right track, keep it going :)

You have a lot of potential, but need a little more practice. The song as it is does pretty good in creating atmosphere and is easy to follow. What is "missing" are things like: 1) panning envelopes (so instruments feel like they're "moving" rather than stationary), 2) experimentation with surround sound (try taking the rain/wind/ambient noise and placing it on both left & right channels with slight pitch variations), 3) more expression in the leads (e.g. vibrato, sharper attack ADSR, phased/flanged samples), 4) more complexity in the percussion line, and 5) adding counter-melodies. So, you've got a good base to start from and probably next year you should consider the Intermediate or Veteran levels.

odd use of panning for the bass pedal and the bowp bass, very doom game music, or old demo music to a space flyer scene, some old lead samples, or at least they sound really familiar, nice thunder samples, the drums are very nice and fitting... held note in pattern 12 could use vibrato to liven it up a bit... use of panning is questionable, maybey less left/right separation of -everything- and perhaps the rain should have been centered or surround-sounded nice transition to the faster darker part sounds very oldstyle 80's synthpop, kinda fun, but nothing remarkable going on musically...
