Judge: Hesse ,Liam This tune seems to rely to heavily on extended samples. They appear to make up the majority of the melody. The bassline shows little variation too. The hihats are too loud. Too much repetition. The percussion appears to show excessive repetition too. It gets messy toward the end... and has a weak trail of percussion to finish off? That is NO way to end a track. |
Judge: Fredricks ,Fred Good lord this was LOUD! If this was on purpose, the author needs to be shot. Repitition kept this song from doing any better. The chord structure never changed nor did the melody. It's a novel tune if anything, but quality is what's being looked for. The swing/techno mix was interesting but detracted from the song going anywhere. Kind of rushed towards the end. This song needs a quite a bit of work. |
Judge: Brink ,Ola This song isnīt all that well tracked, but it is still quite enjoyable. But in my opinion, it hasnīt got enough variation to make it all the way through. The technique could improve quite a bit, and the mixing is a bit unstable. Also, itīs quite original, but the samples are of shifting quality. It has some good ideas to build up on. |
Judge: Weinstein ,Jacob This song has a nice groove to it but it gets old quick. The overall sound quality on the piece is low, probably because of the very harsh samples. There aren't many specific things to fix on this song. It just needs more distinct sections and a smoother feel to it. |
Judge: Price ,Phil I am glad that the author attempted swing in this song. That was a good start. But the beat, buzzes, and overall mood get old kind of fast. My biggest pet peeve with this song is the repetitious drum/hihat beat that is used through the entire song. I longed for something different. The mood in this song is intense, but lacks clarity. It makes me kind of confused more than anything, actually. There are two things that could have made this song better: 1-a varying beat that sets the path for a dynamic mood & 2-a clear mood/vision or three with all samples striving unanimously towards it (one mood at a time though). |
