Though a little more variation on the bass to weekend its harsh nature might be in order, this song simply rocks. Great vocals amidst the pounding drumline. The only criticsm is that the song is not a technically complex song---not that a song needs to be chock-full of effects to get a higher score. It has a good sound but seems a little empty, relying on the percussion to pull the listener from phrase to phrase. You figure that the bass is pretty slow, and the strings are constant. The things that really "move" are the vocals, percussion, and the synth. Overall, well done. I hope you continue to produce more vocal trax.

Starts out slow and boring. Doesn't get interesting at *all* until the 12th/13th track... and immediately starts overusing voice samples. Voice samples really don't sound good (to me at least) unless they have a LOT of stuff going on in the background, which this doesn't. It also lacks a good, firm, flowing beat, only containing the bare minimum. I'd thicken it out a bit and take out some of the voices... or at least lower the voices' volume. The song wanders along slowly, boringly, until the 12th track, and immediately launches into some half-climax half-'huh?' bundle of sound. I hate giving a bad review, but it doesn't sound good to me. :(

A really cool song. It is a bit too much the Five Musicians way of doing musics, but still in a way different and unique. The vocals are fitting, the pre-sampled sequences are used in a way that they don't suck, what to say more - i like it ;)

-reminded me right away of early NIN (good in my books) -good vocals add a nice bit of originality + -vocals allowed music to be much simpler (still good but simple) - -nice use of delay + -loop usage, chop 'em up and save sample space! - -sets the mood right away, I felt it + -GREAT transition in order 13 ++ -nice FX on Vocals + -sample quality low - -good choices for samples however -ending uninspiring - Nicely done tune that I will choose to listen to again...

*File Specs* [Additional vote] Room for brainstorming [Filename]m6v-llgt.it [Title]Lovelight [General comment] One of the songs that caught my attention due to the vocal repetoire which was included... The vocal samples are even quite pure in sounding for this type of song, a few minor points are the use of sequenced percussion lines and the predesigned 303 sequences. Al in all i can say that such kind of entries took away the doubt if such song can be created within a Kbyte limit of 1000. Though the samples sound like they had to stay limited to radio-quality., The songconcept is really good, the mixing is quite fabulous and the Sfx are in place, what can i say more about it?

This is by FAR the best MC6 song I've heard. EXCELLENT vocals. Even more so, the author just knows how to write a damn good song. Impressive progressions and melody. Gives me shivers. The only qualm would of course be the extended samples. They are used well, and fit perfectly, but it could have been done without them (especially the two huge drum loops used just to get a flange effect). This is a music competition, though, and I feel that I have to give higher precendence to artistic merit than to nitpick technique... which is reflected in the score.

Really cool song with great vocals. The drums are very neat too.

I'm not too fond of the kick drum throughout the intro in this tune.. the low bass note comes in nicely though and the repeating synth riff is more than appropriate and doesn't get repetitive.. Fairly nonsensical lyrics but i dig the voice and the lines he's singing.. definitely well conceived- the 'chorus'-ish part is definitely a nice shift up from the a-part and tops it all off nicely.. sounds real professional.. The drum track gets a bit annoying at times but it's appropriate and i can see why the composer used it the way they did.. Overall, nice.. and original too i'd say.

The best vocal song I've heard in the scene. Of course, it's still a problem as there's better vocal songs outside of the scene. Yet, to represent vocal songs in the scene, I would have no problem choosing this one. The voice refiltered effect was a nice touch that pretty much MADE the song :) It successfully incorperates the electric sound of the scene with the alternative voice of music. Another interesting developement with judging a vocal song is that suddenly the lyrics become a part of the equation. No matter how I try I couldn't separate it from judging the music. Yes, lyrics are indeed a part of the song - on this note, I found the lyrics to be disappointing. A bit thought inspiring perhaps, but not overly insightful. Anyway, the music rocks. Very well tracked. Samples 1 and 2 really shouldn't be kept as a loop though. It would be more impressive if they were tracked (as they easily should). Despite the repetative nature of the song, it managed to keep my interest. Perhaps because of the voice. But, also because of a compelling tune. Good use of the bass - and nice voice BTW :)

An interesting tune with vocals. Good use of samples if not too over-dependant 'extended'samples such as 303ish riff, drums, and voice all used riffs which make up 80% of the samples. This may have limited what you could have done with this tune variation wise because you have to heavily depend on the extended samples. It was well produced (equalisation, and panning and orchestration). Good engineering on the samples shows this author has spent time thinking out his tune. Especially working with vocals you need a lot of co-ordination. Some of the straight vocal work was a little harsh when mixed with the backing "always make me feel this way" is an example of this. Perhaps try a little more echo, or tone down on the volume with that particular phrase. The overdriven vocals worked better in general.

Yea, voice is real good. Singing over distortion is not bad. Good choosen name. So easy lovelight.

This modul is the best in this competition. It is completely outstanding with idea and style :-) and i love it. The more I listen to it the more it sounds good. Thinking it was done by HUNZ of FM? If I´m wrong this new musician will become one of my favourates in future!!!! :-)

An excellent and fresh track! Kept me interested all the way to the end. Sample set is designed for the purpose and the mix works just beautifully. This must be one of the best veteran entries I have heard on the first round. The distorted samples hit the mix with an attitude. Decent vocals, altough you are no vocalist yet. Maybe the song could use some variance after the beat has kicked on, but on the overrall, no big faults here. Great job!

This is a good example of a song that has great originality as far as "Has this style been tracked before?", but is pretty unoriginal in the world of performed ("real") music. Good use of overdriven and clean vocals and it works very well against the backdrop of the rest of the song (even though at first I thought I was in big trouble because I didn't know French :-) ). Nice rough rhythm to start out with, which seems very natural going into the traditional compressed ghetto beats. The breath sounds didn't really fit in well (at least not those breath samples), but I guess it was something to hear at that point in the song. Too many pre-sequenced samples were used that could -- no, should -- have been tracked. Great panning -- that's a great way to get the surround effect using those samples but without using surround. I like this tune a lot (even though it apparently is the least likely tune to need an extra vote to say that :-) ).
