A classic funk jazz tune. Well orchestrated, and good samples. Panning was a bit of a let down which was due to the envelopes causing that horrid left/right swing effect which is quite distracting and annoying. The tune was rather centered to a mono sound, with over dependance on the panning envelopes to do the work. Drums I am not sure should have been using panning envelopes. It's a pity because this brought down the tune a lot. The guitar licks got a little annoying too being over used, however it worked well with the rhythm to bring across the funk feel. The author has a good ear, and perhaps some jazz knowledge, though I feel that the chord progression got a bit repetative. The rhythm I feel was the best feature of this tune, and perhaps the melody could be improved a little to provide a feeling of continuity instead of a start and stop feel I got while listening. Other than that, a good effort for something different than the norm, and a style which is hard to do well!

Little bit annoying intro. Simple jazzy drumline. Nice chords/leads. Proper volume/fx work, too-mid panning. Lil'bit squeeky guitars. Messy synths at ord. 11/12 and later (18 or so). Sounds like jazz band jam session - theme is lost forever in single-person jamming/experimenting. Very good samples. Overally - ok. There were jazz tunes far better. Veteran technique.

I am not a big funk fan first of all. If you are trying to be jazzy with a lead instrument you need to be clearer. I can hear most of the notes but sometimes they blend into the backing too much and lose effect. Sample quality sounds harsh. I'm getting a little tired of hearing that WahWah guitar played like this. The problem with using an extended sample like this is that it limits the chords you can use. If you do try and change the chordal theme of the song you have to cut the sample out and you lose continuity. Catch 22. The lead you bring in at 0E (sax?) is way too varied. Not great emulation of a real instrument. I didn't like the constant underlying strings on track 2 in patterns 0B and 0C. Ruins the section. It's a nice sample but not used this low. Octave higher is its natural range. Otherwise... Interesting song but nothing really stands out.

i like the excitement of the song, but some of the dramatic brass hits are far too harsh and come out of nowhere. the composition is very good tho. you're able to keep up the quick tempo while still mixing in various instruments and melodies. this track doesnt *really* get good till half way through or so, where a synth chord fills out the middle part of the sound spectrum and everything falls into place quite nicely. however, the song is a bit brief, and never really wraps up very well.

This sounds like a very good jam session!!! Tough that a jam session could not be realized by 100% on a computer, but I think it would be hard to beat this one.
