where it ranked #18.

This is one of the tunes you have to like.. although the intro is generic at best, this tune really kicks when it starts off at order 04. You have managed to find a very interesting groove, and you do no major flaws regarding this concept. Your leads are stylish and suiting, and the drums - albeit somewhat violent - are programmed well (there's a sequence in there, but nonetheless). Your samples were not very good - that's what drags down the rating in this tune. I recognized a couple of ripped samples in there (I even believe I found one you have ripped from me! :) ). Also, some of the leads are badly looped. You don't bring much new to the genre either, although the vocal samples do add a fresh touch to it. Your tracking is good for an intermediate. Overall this tune is quite amusing and nice, you have many good transitions and bridges (I must say I like your clapping part at order 20 - and I get shivers when things kick in again at order 28). One of my favourite intermediate tunes this year.

INSTRUMENTATION/SAMPLES: The opening bassy string synth (Ins 1) is very undersampled. No rich smoothness at all---just this scratchy harshness. It would have been much better sampled at 2x the rate it currently was. In fact, it really clashes against the rest of the song which is this laid-back groove. The high-pitched synth lead (Ins 2) also seemed to lack luster. Not only is it all by itself in the first few patterns (Pat 16-17)---reverbing it would have helped greatly---but it seems out of place, out of tune. You only used 464KB, and that's more than plenty of room to lengthen or resample your instruments, or find other ones on the 'Net. -=-=-=- TECHNIQUE: More reverb on the high note synths, please. Those notes really do stand out sharply and it just seems real "lonely". Also, on the solo area in the middle of the song, you begin the solo on Pat 39 (Chan 22/23) with one instrument and then change back to another? Was this a oversight or intentional? Everything else looks okay. A wider panning range would have been nice, but not necessary. -=-=-=- ORIGINALITY: Not really original, but it still did sound good. -=-=-=- FORM: Because it was so "plain", I could neither like nor hate it. -=-=-=- OVERALL: Not a bad piece, but just not stunningly great. This is a cruising kind of tune where you don't really have a melody or leads. It's just a rhythm/bass tune with constant chords. -=-=-=-

starts out smoothly, but when the style starts to really set in and become obvious a few things got out of hand.. the basic progression is fine, but the 'counter melodies' and other synthy riffs jump in and out of the scale a little too much which makes it sound cluttered.. the instrumentation is right on except for the fact that i recognize about 70% of these samples.. technique: there's obviously tracking skill here but some of the musical aspects should be addressed first.. samples: not really all that original but used effectively (good orchestration)...overall, a decent intermediate tune with nothing that really stands out (may be because of style) but nothing devastating either...

Odd intro which fits the rest of the tune like a straight-jacket on a donkey - the chip-lead is totally drowned out by a (poor quality) long bass sample. When the main body of the tune gets going it's a summertime chillout track as the title suggests. Drums don't fit - the Necros bassdrum would sound a lot better in a techno or industrial tune, and I don't know what sound system you're using but I can hardly hear the snare in places. Channel 15 needs to be echoed. Chords flow nicely, sliding lead fits okay on top of them. Interesting mid-section from order 20-28 but the drumloop introduced is old, and the leads are Necros again. Melodies too nonchalant in places. Overall, a listenable and fairly original tune with an unoriginal sample set and decent technique.

I found this song confusing: confusing because on a very well done background orchestration, is associated a chip sample that very badly fits in it. I liked very much the theme starting from pattern 16, but again the continuous glissando with the chip sample ruins the pathos. Glissando commands should be used with a faster speed when we have higher frequencies. This shows that technique needs to be improved.

The intro to this tune has a rather spooky and scary atmosphere, and it doesn't at all suit the rest of the tune, which is supposed to be a more fresh and happy summertime atmosphere. There are some harmonic flaws all over the tune - especially from the chip-section, which simply sounds terrible at times! The structure is quite messy - and thus it all seems like one big mess. At order #25 my mind couldn't take it anymore, and I had to take a break before writing this in order not to be too hard. There are some ok things about the tune though, which should be mentioned here - the tune seems original enough and the samples are of an ok quality. The chip-samples could've and should've been replaced by more suitable samples - although I'll agree with you, that the chip-sliding (no doubt inspired by Fresh Prince's "Summertime") is ok.

Originality: Pop-kind-of-music isn't very original, but you've made it quite original to be a pop-tune. Good variations and melody. Form: Very smooth transitions, and lead variations(but the lead has errors) The progression is nice too. Technique: You use the G command a lot, and sometimes too much. In pattern 9 the G command messes up theĻlead. You could have done a better job with the panning. Samples: You've got a drumloop(not good), or else OK. 60 Overall Appeal: As the title says, summery music. The rythm sets the mood. Overall a pretty good tune. I set you down in the technique section.

Although the sound of this song is not personnal nor very controlled, there is an interesting atmosphere. A funky sound but no real groove. Try to sample more efficient drum samples than those overused roland electronic percs. The snare is particularly flat in your song. Riffs are construtive, chords bring depth. Be carefull about bass lines: some notes are out of tone. Your lead wave samples are greatly used.

Judge: Tumidajewicz, Przemek

It was a bit too difficult for me to figure out the intro part (order 00-03). Also the ending was too sudden. Anyway, you have to work more on solos. A good melody together with the cool bassline you already have and those 'oh!yeah's would make the tune a great piece of soul music.

Judge: Putzolu, Jean-pierre

This tune is a bit different from the standard tracker musics. Itīs melodious & sure ok. But I missed the (experimantal way) variations. Itīs worth listening, but it wonīt blow out your mind. Itīs still in my modul collection!!! Perhaps with some more creative melodies this tune would have been a great change in this competition.
