A direct approach in this tune, not at all uneffective. Still I am baffled by how badly done the drums and percussion are; they are WAY too loud and they aren't well done at all in parts. You have included some cool background details in "the Noon Docks", which participate in increasing its score. I also have to say that your melodylines are catchy, and your new part introduced at order 14 is good. The bass also fits the tune well.. still I have a feeling that something is lacking in this tune; you definitely need to redo your mixing. Many samples are too amped and the sound gets too violent at times (when all instruments kick in). Your attempt with tempi variation in your bridges aren't very successful, they are just awkward and don't fit. This is an OK veteran entry, but nothing more.

Good fast song where maybe synth lead kill whole song. Brass progression tries its best. As technique touch good portamento slides. Yea, good brasses as samples as in form

Racing-game-esque tune with a kick. Excellent percussion, saxophones and bass. Synth lead a tad too loud in the intro. Good melody and chord structure. Speed changes are intelligent, most notably in orders 9-10 and 28-29. Good transitions bring constant new blood into the song. Another lead sample or two would have helped. Good quality sample set. Easily the best in its niche, but the fact remains that the style isn't too original. Nonetheless, a joy to listen to.

Samples: Incompletely processed. The sawtooth lead sounded thin (and that random panning envelope on instrument 27 didn't help listenability). Odd palette of samples, but they were in tune. Too much high end. Effects: Did not fit in well with the song, and were not suited to the task to which they were applied (instrument 02's envelope is not a substitute for actually tracking your echoes). Composition: Slightly-above-average, but with no real feeling or coherency. Sounds very similar to the old 4-chan tune "Gummisnoppis". Leads were fair-to-middling. Subtlety: I heard a few retrigged hi-hats in order 1. No real control of dynamics. A snare hit in every row is _not_ subtle. Balance: Where there was panning, it was amateurish. Strong points: Okay ending. Weak points: Uninspired, gratuitous. Could improve: Yes.

Nice tune. Samples sound really good, and although its a little quieter than I like, the tune flows well and is not boring. Especially like the beginning of the main tune (right after the intro) with all the wave things dancing around. :)

Very catchy tune. I would've liked to see a cleaner opening. It seems to me that the listener was simply "thrown" into the song. Samples were clean -- but I recognize most of them. They are well matched with each other, and as near as I can tell with this aweful cold, they are also well tuned to each other. Technique is simple, but effective. Effects were justified and used well. I must point out that when you double up instruments (when you play the same instrument in two separate channels each with the same note), it tends to distort on the INTERWAVE and GUS cards. It doesn't make much difference on the SB cards, but its something to keep in mind. I gave a higher overall score, because asthetically, the song works very well. Technicalities don't necessarily matter in an asthetically pleasing song -- except when in competition =P

m6v-noon.it - The Noon Docks ----------------------------- Overall: A synthetic song with true saw and square sounds. I like this. Somehow this reminds me of the game music in Death Really from Purple Motion. Orginality: This has true module characteristic. A square lead sound together with syntic strings and a drum track. But the song does not evolve. There is always the same theme and only the melody part and intruments changes. This song would have deserved a second part with some different ideas. Form: Technique: The composer play with the tempo settings, but I think this was more for amusement, as the groove does not really change when those changings are applied. All intruments are panned to the middle. I think for the rich intruments and echos some more extreme panning would have done good. Sample: ok Point: 50

Leads get annoying in a few places, but it made me move. Interesting beat and rhythm and well implemented. Definatly one i'll listen to again.

A fine song but it doesn't really leave any sort of impression. Perhaps a greater deviation from the fairly repetitive melody would've helped.

To be honest, this is proably the veteran 2nd rounder I have spent least time listening to. The high-pitched synthetic elements get a bit blurred with each other - too many of too similiar sounds playing irrelevant phrases too close to each other. There are a lot of cool small things happening at all times, but somehow those small things fail to make up a whole. The choir/pad combination you use for chords now and then sounds great and has a good feelign of ambience reverberation. Despite the lead being the same for most of the time, I just can't get a grip on it. I think you should send this tune back to workshop, because there are many obviously fabulous elements, which sadly get a bit lost here. As it is, the song is too overwhelming and busy to please.

One of my top favourite MC6 music :) A very lively song you have composed. Clever chorus & verses, a good melody, good use of IT specifications and what almost songs lack : a good end. Maybe the "instrumental" part from pattern 12 to 17 is a bit long, but it can be a kind of pause/break in the middle of the song. Anyway, you sure made a masterpiece.
