Nice ethno drum ticks. Not bad panfle+synth lead. Surprising gong break. To fx okay panning and okay fx. Yea, this feels like ethno.

The very beginning of this song strikes me as a little bit too full... too many instruments appearing and going away, for instance. But after that false start is material that makes me wonder what music technology would be like if the Amiga had 32 channels. Excellent instrument collection, with clean, well-tuned samples and skillful use of NNA's. Bonus points for de-enveloping the samples and letting the tracker do all the dynamics, like that gong (a technique I've worshipped for years) -- you get a _LOT_ more out of 8-bit samples that way. (We don't need no steenkin' 16-bit samples!) Some leads have too many notes (the second half of order 16 comes to mind, as well as the false start with the sitar synth at the end of order 5) and get caught on some wrong notes, and I think I'd've preferred sticking to pentatonic scales for those leads. Very good luxurious chord progressions that sound more real than tracked. This song has plenty of depth and thickness to it (with 51 virtual channels, it had better!), and simply bursts with lots of history and even more talent. It knows where it's going and takes one there with grace. I predicted it would make it to Round 2, and now that it's here, I predict you'll have a new soundcard soon. Good show.

Here is a song with a very polished and professional sounding tone to it. It does this by harnessing a LARGE number of voices (53 at one point!) which may be a problem for some people's machines. A polished tone doesn't always captivate the audience however and the overuse of echoed channels can get a little tiring. The pan flute sound, whilst suited to the style of song, does also get on the nerves a little too. Overall though it is a good song with a strong structure which flows well.

[my comments from round 1] [What a nice beginning! Warm strings chords - I really liked them. The other samples aren't worse... But after that great intro I cannot imagine what happened to the main part :( Those chords are just hanging over the space like the voice samples, the panflute is a straight stab in my ears, strong volume does not fit into the whole stuff. These are in fact technical faults. The whole main part is kindda monotonous, and I don't like that synth lead you put in the pattern 18. Very unsuitable, sharp, and pushes the other instruments into the background. Well, not a bad song at all, just i won't remember to the main aim and the melody tommorow... a better mediocre entry.]

Beautiful song! Very nice blend of amazon-ish and newage-ish music (or whatever you'd like to call it... whatever it is, it sounds GOOD), flows VERY well and just screams 'i am spiffy song'. I especially like the ending... everything just stays hanging for a minute, changes completely and fades out :)

I felt that this song didn't flow as I would have liked it to and therefore I found it rather disjointed in places. The orchestration and tunes, however, are well worked and I really like the gong at the start of orders 3 and 13. The drums were not quite satisfying to my ears and need some work - although I myself find this type of beat difficult to achieve. Nice key change at order 9. I think there needs to be more structure and form in the song, but generally the music is well sequenced and tracked with good technique. The panning work is effective. The 8 bit samples are of good quality and clean. Needs a couple of touches I think, but an enjoyable song - nice work!

m6v-wmou.it - White Mother of Universe ---------------------------------------- Overall: This song reminds me of the music in Unreal, featuring many percussion and string sounds. Paired with synths this makes an interesting combination. Originality: Although not totally new, this song seems still original as I have not heard much music with this ethnic-synth style. But nothing new is presented in this song. It is just the classic style of melody and accompanie well mixed to form a new song. So somehow this song appears as if heard somewhere before. Form: Afer an introduction to the main idea the song stays with this theme for its complete duration. I think this song would have deserved a second a bit faster theme to be introduced after 1 or 2 minutes. The way it is now some boreness appears when nothing really changes after 2 minutes and the ideas are just repeated. Technique: Sometimes the pan flute intruments sound heavily out of tune. The song is nicely panned to make use of the two stereo channels. Sample: I like the string and percussion samples very much, which form an interesting athmosphere. Point: 70

Technically good, but doesn't really go anywhere. Nice atmosphere but was lacking something. Very clean though.

Well tracked. The melody lacks greater variation. Perhaps more could've been done with the flute sample.

Well, i have a very few things to say. Your song is not my top favourite but it's really far from being bad at all. it's just that comparing to the other, it's a bit worse. There is not a strong melody or chord progression that stay in mind. It's more an ambience or movie style music and in that way, you made a great job. Maybe you should have made something else than an volume fading end, but anyway the rest is pretty good. I especially like your samples panning that give a depth to your song.
